Advanced Coaching for Christian Preachers & Presenters

Course focus: This workshop focuses on taking the participants to the next level of presentation skill with advanced strategies, tools, video taping, and feedback specific to them.

Participants learn how to:

  • Align with God’s heart and purposes for their audience through Purposeful Prayer
  • Organize an audience-focused message that opens the hearts and minds of their listener(s)
  • Keep listener(s) interested and engaged in a way that encourages them to respond to God
  • Use Power Point and other visual aids to maximize their message
  • Deliver their messages with confidence 

Curriculum Approach:

By applying the V.O.I.C.E. principles (described below) to their messages, participants are taken to the next level of skill development in presenting to groups in a variety of settings.  To facilitate this, participants will be video taped while giving a 5-minute presentation of their choice, then provided with feedback and tools that support their application to their style and situation.

Validate
  • Participants learn that one way to align with God’s heart and purposes for the audience is through Purposeful Prayer.
  • Participants learn to validate the three stories within every faith-based message.
  • Participants learn three ways to validate listeners and invite them into the story.
Organize
  • Participants learn why and how Jesus used stories to create readiness and receptive insight.
  • Participants learn that structure helps both the speaker and the audience to stay focused on what’s important.
  • Participants will be shown several models to help them organize their content around the audiences needs.
Inspire
  • Our hearts and minds are opened when we feel inspired as a listener. 
  • We will look at Jesus’s approach to opening hearts and minds.
  • Participants learn how to keep the audience interested and engaged in a way that encourages them to respond to God.
Capture
  • Variety and vividness are key to capturing and keeping the audiences attention, participants will be introduced to a variety of ways to make content vivid and compelling.
  • Utilizing visual aids is one way to capture and keep the audiences attention – it is also one way to lose it. 
  • Best practices will be shared for maximizing visual aids.
Encourage
  • It takes courage to share a message of faith in front of a group. 
  • At times it also takes courage for the audience to take action on the message delivered; we’ll learn how Jesus encouraged others to have that courage.
  • Participants will learn strategies for overcoming nervousness and delivering their messages within their style.
