Telling My Faith Story
Course focus: This 1-hour workshop focuses on discovering and organizing your faith testimonies and overcoming fears of speaking.
Participants learn how to:
- Share God’s story thru their life stories
- Organize an audience focused message that opens the hearts and minds of their listener(s)
- Keep the listener(s) interested and engaged in a way that encourages them to respond to God
- Align with God’s heart and purposes through Purposeful Prayer.
- Deliver their messages with confidence
Curriculum Approach:
By applying the D.O.V.E. principles described below to their messages, participants will learn to focus on what’s important and feel more confident in sharing their testimony to God’s glory.
- Discover
- We all have stories that express God’s love and interactions with us; participants will be introduced to a tool that helps them discover their stories.
- Participants will gain an understanding that when we start with the relationship, we can share our faith in a more relevant way with our listeners.
- Organize
- Participants learn why and how Jesus used stories to create readiness and receptive insight.
- Participants learn that structure helps both the speaker and the listener to stay focused on what’s important.
- Participants will learn how to keep their listener(s) interested and engaged in a way that encourages them to respond to God.
- Validate
- Participants learn that one way to align with God’s heart and purposes is through Purposeful Prayer.
- Our hearts and minds are opened when we feel validated as a listener. We will look at how Jesus approached validating his listener(s).
- Participants will learn three ways to acknowledge their listeners and invite them into the story.
- Enjoy
- Participants will learn strategies for overcoming nervousness and delivering their messages within their style.
